Mapping a sustainable arborist's route to the top of local search.

A Sunshine Coast tree-care business with a genuinely distinctive brand — sustainable, wildlife-conscious tree care — but near-invisible in the searches that actually book jobs. We built the growth roadmap. This is a strategy engagement, so the numbers below are projected.

A great business, invisible in local search.

The site was modern and the positioning was sharp — plant-two-for-one, habitat-hollow creation, a sustainability story no other operator on the Coast owns. But none of that was translating into search visibility. The two levers Google weights most heavily for local businesses were the two weakest: Google reviews and suburb-specific pages. Competitors with a decade's head start were winning on review volume (100–300+ each) and complete location-page networks — not on being better arborists.

What we mapped.

  • A review engine. The single biggest gap. A simple after-every-job Google-review request, targeting 50+ reviews in 90 days — the #1 local ranking factor and now an input to AI recommendations too.
  • The suburb page network. From 3 dedicated location pages to ~15 — one rankable page per town serviced, each with unique local copy and LocalBusiness / service-area schema.
  • Council-approval content. The area spans two councils with different rules (Noosa Shire vs Sunshine Coast Regional). Two guide pages nobody else has nailed — high-intent, and a natural bridge to the paid arborist-report service.
  • The sustainability white space. "Eco tree removal", "wildlife-friendly tree care", "habitat hollow creation" — uncontested search terms that double as EEAT credibility.
  • Foundation fixes. A NAP (name/address/phone) inconsistency splitting their local signal, and an under-built Google Business Profile — both fixed before anything else.

The projected numbers.

Modelled conservatively on local demand and a typical job value, closing the review and location-page gaps projects to roughly $12,000+ in annual revenue uplift — with review and Business-Profile gains landing in weeks and the content/location rankings compounding over 3–6 months. These are projections from a strategy engagement, not audited results; the honest headline is that the plan attacks exactly the two levers the market rewards most.

Why this is the Kampfire pattern.

Same approach as everything we do: find the two or three things that actually move the needle, sequence them so the early wins fund the later ones, and hand over a plan the client can run themselves. No 40-page report, no jargon — just the route, in order.
